On 18th July, our very own Reiss, will be taking a leap of faith from the iconic Whitby Bridge Bungee to raise funds for our long-standing charity partner, the Sailors’ Children’s Society.
Standing an impressive 42 metres (160 feet) above the water, this challenge will see Reiss jump from Larpool Viaduct in Whitby, the only bridge bungee jump location in England. Set against the North Yorkshire coastline, the event will provide a memorable experience in support of an important charitable cause.
Supporting Maritime Families When They Need It Most
The Sailors’ Children’s Society has been supporting disadvantaged children and families connected to the maritime industry since 1821. Over the years, the charity has helped more than 50,000 children across the UK, providing essential financial, emotional and practical support to families facing hardship.
We are proud to continue our support of The Sailors’ Children’s Society and the vital work it delivers today, helping children and families across the maritime sector navigate challenging circumstances and ensuring they have the stability and opportunities they need to thrive.
Why Reiss Is Taking the Plunge
Anyone who knows Reiss will know he approaches every challenge with enthusiasm and positivity. When asked why he decided to take on the challenge, Reiss said:
"I've always wanted to do a bungee jump, and to be able to do it while supporting such a fantastic charity as the Sailors' Children’s Society makes it even more worthwhile. It's a win-win.
I am nervous but excited and can't wait to do it."
While the thought of stepping off a 160-foot bridge might be enough to make most people think twice, Reiss is embracing the challenge to help raise awareness and vital funds for a charity that means a great deal to both him and J. Marr.
Every Donation Makes a Difference
Every pound raised through this challenge will go directly to the Sailors’ Children’s Society, helping them continue their invaluable work supporting maritime families across the UK.
Whether it's helping a family through financial difficulties, providing emotional support during challenging times, or ensuring children have access to opportunities they might otherwise miss, every donation helps make a meaningful difference.
