J Marr Supporting Special Stars Foundation

The Special Stars Foundation, a charity renowned for its dedication to improving the lives of people with disabilities and their families in the UK, is receiving a significant boost this year thanks to the support from local business, J Marr. This company's commitment is highlighted by their participation in the upcoming Hull 10K on 9th June, where six of J Marr’s employees will run to raise funds and awareness for the foundation.

The Special Stars Foundation provides a range of vital services and support, from hosting a diverse calendar of creative learning and social activities to offering training and advice services for parent carers. Their work aims not only to assist in day-to-day activities but also to foster a more inclusive community.

The Hull 10K event serves as a pivotal moment for J Marr’s team, who, despite the short five-week preparation period, are enthusiastic and driven to support this worthy cause. Team members range from seasoned runners aiming for personal bests to newcomers focused simply on crossing the finish line, all united by their goal to raise as much money as possible for the foundation.

“We are incredibly proud to support the Special Stars Foundation. This race is just one of the ways we’re helping to make a difference,” said Kim Stephenson of J Marr. “We encourage everyone to come out and support our runners on race day, I’m really not a runner so it would be amazing to get some extra support.”

Looking beyond the Hull 10K, J Marr's next planned event to support the foundation involves sponsoring a group outing for disabled adults. This will include a fun-filled day of bowling followed by a visit to the cinema, providing a wonderful opportunity for enjoyment and social engagement.

These initiatives underscore J Marr’s ongoing commitment to the community and to charitable causes like the Special Stars Foundation, proving that corporate support can make a substantial impact on the lives of many.
