J. Marr Colleagues Take on London Landmarks Half for Charity

J. Marr is proud to announce that two members of our team, Ryan and Emma, will be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 12th April 2026 in support of the Sailors’ Children’s Society.
This challenge reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting a charity that is close to our hearts and closely connected to our industry.
The Sailors’ Children’s Society provides practical, emotional and financial support to children and families who have been affected by the loss or serious illness of a parent working at sea.
Their work helps families through some of the most difficult periods of their lives, offering stability, reassurance and long-term support when it is needed most.
J. Marr has worked closely with the Sailors’ Children’s Society for many years, raising funds and awareness to support their vital work.
As a business rooted in the seafood industry, we understand the importance of supporting those connected to life at sea, and we are proud to continue this partnership.
Training Underway
With around 9 weeks to go until race day, training is already well underway.
Early morning runs, evening sessions, and weekend miles are now part of the routine, as Ryan and Emma balance their preparation alongside their roles at J. Marr.
While the challenge is demanding, it is also exciting and rewarding, providing focus and motivation in the lead-up to the event.
Emma stated that “taking on the half marathon is a big challenge but knowing we’re doing it for such a meaningful cause gives us real motivation and focus.” Ryan added that “the London Landmarks Half Marathon is a great challenge, and I feel privileged to take part in this for such a worthwhile cause.”
Raising Funds
Ryan and Emma are aiming to raise £1,000 to support the Sailors’ Children’s Society and help them continue their vital work and after announcing the challenge internally only last week, they are already well on their way to reaching that target.
