Christmas Gift Collection 2022

23rd December 2022

For the company Christmas campaign 2022 we were delighted to support the Frederick Holmes Special Needs Community School in Hull.

Frederick Holmes School is an all age special school for children and young people with profound/severe physical disabilities. Many of our pupils also experience learning and/or communication difficulties and some have profound and complex medical needs. The pupils require a high degree of adult support to access the school curriculum and for everyday activities such as eating and drinking and personal care routines. The school aims to ensure that all pupils have every opportunity to develop to their maximum potential and we endeavour to encourage autonomy and independence in all areas of the pupils’ daily lives.

For many of the families who's children attend Fredrick Holmes School with the cost of living on the rise buying Christmas presents was down on their list of priorities, so colleagues at J. Marr and AMI got together and generously bought gifts for over 50 of the school children, from ages 5 to 15. Due to the money raised from the Christmas raffle, tuck shop and Christmas jumper day this meant that we where also able to supply a selection box, crackers and sweets for every child to take home. We also provided biscuits and chocolates for the wonderful caring staff and a large selection of arts and crafts items for the school.

Thank you to everyone for your generosity and a special mention Helen for coordinating such a wonderful event and to those Elves who kindly helped with buying, wrapping, packing and delivering the presents!
